Title: Thou Shalt Not Kill

Griffin saw the irony in what he had to do and where he had to do it …

   Thou shalt not kill …

Alas, to get his wife back, that's exactly what he'd have to do … in a church.

The abductors chose the church to hold her because of the surrounding wall with only one gate opening. They thought it would force Griffin to come at them from the front. They didn't know Griffin very well.

He approached the west side of the wall with his M4A1 Carbine Rifle, known for its effectiveness in close quarters, as well as distances up to 500 yards. He’d hiked three miles through thick forest and scratchy brush to this hideout in a thicket.

Through his scope, he could see just over the tall gray stone wall to a sniper atop the fortress. With one shot he'd take the sniper without giving away his position. At 450 yards, it was a tough shot. He caught the sniper in the shoulder. Not fatal until he fell from his perch head first.

Now Griffin scaled the wall and made his way, stealthily, to a side door and a guard who had come out to investigate the shot. Griffin handled him nearly silently other than the grunt that escaped with the twist of his Stiletto knife.

From there it was a matter of clearing each room, taking no prisoners. He dispatched the other five henchmen in the same manner. Then came to a door cracked open a few inches. He could see his final target. Nobody else left to worry about hearing a gunshot. One pop and he would make Dirk pay for thinking he could use Leslie to make him commit treason. He’d have the love of his life and the nightmare would be over.
